Library Committee

Sam Kapustin,  Chairman

Thanks to the efforts of the late Mr. Hartstein, the shul is blessed with a well-stocked library, containing a wide variety of Sifrei Kodesh. The challenge for the Committee is to organize the present holdings and to explore ways in which the library may best serve the needs of the members. Among the questions that need to be addressed:
1)How many members actually use the library? How important is it to the membership?
2)Is it possible to continue the lax supervision of borrowing books while at the same time ensuring that they are returned?
3)Are there other areas or topics not included in the present holdings that members would like to see, e.g.,  English language books, journals, children’s literature, Jewish fiction, etc.?
4)Would an on-line system for checking library holdings and/ or borowing books be useful and desirable?
5)Is there sufficient funding available to expand the library holdings?

The Committee would be pleased to attract members eager to help fulfill its mandate and welcomes input from the entire shul membership.
