Bnai Torah was_established for the purpose of providing the Jewish Community of our district with an Orthodox religious, cultural, and social center, in the spirit of the unbroken tradition of our people.
As a Beth Hatefillah (A House of Prayer) Where we shall join in an Orthodox Jewish communal worship and enter in communion with the source of all inspiration, following the hallowed modes of traditional prayer in a form that combines sincere warmth with decorum and beauty.
As a Beth Hakenesseth ( A House of Assembly) A focal point for the social life of our community; a place to accomidate our communal assemblies and gatherings, where we may celebrate occasions of happiness both public and private and which may also serve us, G-d forbid, in times of sorrow and tribulation, there to find comfort and strength.
As a Beth Hamedrash (A House of Study) A fountain of Jewish information where instruction will be provided in Jewish knowledge and wisdom for all age levels of the Congregation, in recognition of the basic importance of Jewish education in intelligent Jewish living.
Our Rabbi

Rabbi Yirmiya Milevsky was born in Toronto, Canada, and grew up in Mexico City and Jerusalem where his father was a pulpit Rabbi and educator respectively. After graduating from the Telshe Yeshiva of Chicago, he studied in Kolel of Santiago, Chile and Milwaukee WI. From 1997 to 2003 he served as Rabbi at the Young Israel of Greater Buffalo. He moved to Memphis in 2003, and joined the Young Israel of Memphis. Rabbi Milevsky received Semicha from Rabbi Avrohom Chaim Levin, Telshe Yeshiva - Chicago and Rabbi Itzhak Kolitz ZT"L, Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem.Rabbi Milevsky graduated with a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from the University of Memphis.
